Car talk…

Hello everyone, how are you? I am thinking about a return to Cleveland, OH. Why? Because they have an awesome orchestra, school and sense of musicality when it comes to classical music and more. Oh, and a fantastic art scene.

That said, I miss their way. Some of you may know that I have been back and forth, literally, between Texas and Cleveland in recent years. That said, again, I’m thinking of returning to Cleveland as part of the work-force in order to establish a residency. Then I will plan to expand my approach into the classical music scene, as time goes by.

What are your thoughts on this idea? Would you be okay sharing them with me?

I have been to Cleveland in the past and made some big mistakes while there. (Nothing too big, just crossing certain lines.) Those mistakes placed me in a known predicament, where it was necessary to have some therapy and healing.

But, all that is in the past, for real. I have no interest in crossing those lines that I did, and have every intention of being a productive and valued member of their home.

Now, I should mention that this idea could possibly dry up in a matter of minutes or hours or days. It has in the past, but comes back again from time to time. That said, I don’t feel crazy or insane or any of that. I can laugh at this time in my life when I don’t really know which way to go. So, I try different things and different avenues to see which feels right.

Shoot, last September I went up to Cleveland and joined a program with the goal of learning about where the city is, and whether living there would be a good idea. I ended up coming home to Texas after a few months. Maybe I was tired of the program’s demands, or maybe I just wanted to be back home, or both. Regardless, here I am on Tiki finding my way. Thank you.

My heart, in recent days, has been leading me to playing music in the Houston area and Gulf Coast Region. That said, you are all probably wondering why I am still floundering between Texas and Cleveland. And, frankly, I agree. Why am I still thinking about going up there?

Houston is an awesome place to live. I can imagine being a successful teacher and player of music, among other things as well.

So, maybe I should give this more time and follow my heart. Amen. Maybe I won’t return to Cleveland in the blink of an eye, like I did in the past. Maybe I should keep my current job for a while until things settle down. Amen. That is probably what I should do. Amen.

I was talking with an old friend, and he said he went through something similar where different avenues sounded positive at different times. And he, as well, had a difficult time understanding which way to go. I am thinking that as we learn about ourselves, we find what “jives” with our beliefs and values. Then we possibly find a road that serves us best. Amen.

I mean, earlier today I was honestly thinking about Kentucky! Haha. Yeah.

Furthermore, and we should note, that a musician can call one place home, and travel like mad and never spend much time at home. That said, what am I worried about? Haha.

I promise not to get up and go to Cleveland anymore. I will have a good plan no matter where I go, whether it’s Texas, Cleveland, Mexico or Kentucky. Haha.

Alas, this is a long road for us musicians and artists. Our craft is what is most important. Finding a supportive environment is key. Where is this place for me? Amen.

Will keep you posted.

Have a blessed day and I hope you are in a good place for your growth and prosperity, because that is exactly what I’m looking for. Amen.

Peace and Love,

Travis
