Work and play…

Hello everyone. I am happy to be working again, despite it not being quite the dream. But, somehow maybe it is a part of the dream. To be honest, maybe if I continue to work part-time, I will be able to afford a transition that will be a step forward in my dream of making music as a living. Amen.

Today, I worked hard for the pizza joint. It was rewarding and I’m finding the my stamina is catching up to the pace of work there. I was even able to come home and practice the viola a bit. And that went very well, too.

That said, I feel wonderful. Everything is falling into place. It’s moving beyond just writing about my dreams, to living my dreams. So, that is a good feeling.

Ah, should let you guys know that I’m grieving a loss of a great uncle and great teacher in this life. Same person, two roles. He was an incredible person with all the character in the world. He lived a good life and is leaving behind a wonderful family. I wasn’t able to attend his burial, because there were scheduling conflicts. That said, I love you Uncle Hal, and will continue thinking of you and yours as life moves forward. Love you, Travis.

Also, my thoughts have returned to spending more time in the Houston area as it could be a good start for a promising musician. Some might laugh at this comment, “promising”, because I have now played a stringed instrument for 38 years. But, I am still making progress and crossing thresholds in the musical arena of life. So, that is why I consider myself to be a promising musician.

It would be nice, and I have thought about becoming a recitalist with the viola. My feeling is my playing is good enough and of the quality that audiences would benefit form the recitals and leave feeling better than they did when they walked into the hall. So, my plan is to play more for people in different places and times, and see what I can build while I’m here in Texas. Amen.

So, I will continue working for the pizza place, and still have four days off a week, to build in my creative areas, plus whatever juice I still have in me after work. Sounds to me like a plan. Amen.
